An Attorney With 30 Years of Experience

"When competency is crucial"

At Forman Law Office, we take a legal and personal approach to our work. We take the time to get to know clients and the circumstances surrounding their legal issues. We understand that most legal matters take a personal toll on people and their families. When competency is crucial you do not want to spend your hard earned money on attorneys who are learning as they go. Do not be fooled by a name, look to the attorney with the necessary experience, Forman Law.

Attorney Timothy Forman knows the importance of working with clients one on one and providing transparent, honest and empathetic legal service. Depending on the case and the client's goals, he may utilize mediation or negotiation, but we will fight vigorously in court when that is in the client's best interests. Family Law and Mediation

The death of a loved one or divorce are often listed as those circumstances which produce the greatest amount of stress in an individual's life. We at Forman Law understand these stresses and are particularly trained in how to assist our clients in dealing with them. An individual facing a dissolution of their marriage is required to confront a myriad of issues, issues which in most cases they never had to deal with before in their life. The result can be catastrophic unless the individual has an attorney not only trained in family law issues but experienced in dealing with them. We at Forman Law bring to our clients 30 years of clinical and legal experience in dealing with the issues which arise. and a vast knowledge of how these issues can be dealt with. We help clients handle the stress and emotional nature of family law issues, keeping them informed so they can make good decisions. While we value mediation in family law, we provide strong, experienced litigation when appropriate. Our family law practice includes divorce, high-asset divorce, collaborative divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, adoption and guardianships.

Parties and their attorneys often wish to "duke it out" in court. However, mediation can provide a welcome alternative to extensive and expensive litigation, much of the evidence which a party may want to introduce at trial but can't due to one restriction or another, is admissible in mediation. One of the major advantages of mediation, other than its cost effectiveness, is that the parties participate in crafting an agreement with which they can live, not one which the Court has imposed on the parties after hearing only a limited amount of evidence. Timothy Forman is a certified mediator in child and family issues and can help the parties craft an agreement that both parties feel meet their needs. He has the ability to discern the parties' interests and translate those interests into an agreement which in the long run can benefit both parties as well as the children involved.

Consumer Bankruptcy

In today's economy so many families find themselves overwhelmed by debt. They fear losing their home through foreclosure, their car through repossession, or having their wages garnished as a result of a money judgment obtained against them in a court of law. This does not have to occur and is not a necessary result of filing bankruptcy. Clients of Forman Law come to understand that bankruptcy, unlike so many of the quick workout programs advertised on tv is a system of federal laws and procedures designed to assist the individual or family in attaining a debt-free state while still maintaining their quality of life. At Forman Law we are experienced bankruptcy practitioners who regularly practice before the Federal Bankruptcy Judges here in Central Illinois. We can assist you in determining whether bankruptcy is a necessary option and if so, whether you should file a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13. Given that our initial consultation is always at no charge, you will find that you can obtain answers to those so many questions you have but did not know who to ask.
